Blanca Bullring: All You Need to Know About Its History, Seating Plan and Ticket Prices

Plaza de toros de Blanca

Discover everything about the Blanca Bullring and its traditional festivities: centuries-old bull runs, fascinating curiosities, history, seating options and all the essential information to enjoy bullfighting in this emblematic town in Murcia.

Every summer, the town of Blanca transforms its main square (Plaza del Ayuntamiento) into a vibrant temporary bullring, with capacity for around 2,000 spectators. This ephemeral structure becomes the beating heart of the town’s bullfighting celebrations, where tradition and passion are lived to the fullest.

A Future Project

Blanca is not only about the past. Architect Manuel Pérez Romero, winner of the competition for ideas, has presented a project for the construction of a Bullring-Auditorium in the El Runes area. This new venue would host not only bullfighting events but also concerts and cultural shows, positioning Blanca as a cultural landmark that blends innovation with tradition.

The Blanca Bull Run

The Blanca encierro (running of the bulls) has more than 300 years of history. In recent editions, two runs are even held. Covering approximately 800 metres, the route begins at the pen known as “punta del pueblo” on Barrio Nuevo Street, continues through Concepción, Generalísimo, Plaza de la Iglesia, Pintor Pedro Cano and Federico Server, before finally reaching the bullring.

The day begins with the firing of three rockets: the first warns spectators to find a safe spot if they are not running; the second, fired fifteen minutes before the start, signals the imminent beginning; and the third, when the mayor arrives at the pen, marks the opening of the gate and the release of the bulls. Excitement, adrenaline and tradition come together in every run, with locals and visitors gathering along the route, entertained by brass bands and stalls serving tapas, cold beer and local produce.
