The La Condomina bullring will once again become the epicentre of bullfighting this September with the Murcia Fair 2025, which brings together the greatest figures of the current season alongside rising talents. The organising company, Toros Sureste, has put together a six-event programme of the highest calibre, with a highlight being the commemorative corrida marking the 1,200th anniversary of the city’s foundation.
The line-up for the Murcia Bullfighting Fair 2025 has now been announced and anticipation is running high. Toros Sureste has designed a prestigious cycle of six events that combine experience, youthful promise and attractive rivalries, making this year’s edition “a first-class fair” for La Condomina.
The programme consists of four bullfights, one rejoneo (bullfight on horseback) and one novillada (a fight with young bulls). The fair will open on Sunday 14 September with the novillada, featuring Parrita, Víctor Acebo and Javier Zulueta, who will fight bulls from Fuente Ymbro, in collaboration with the Region of Murcia.
On Monday 15 September, an artistic and classic-style line-up will take the stage: Morante de la Puebla, José María Manzanares and Juan Ortega, with bulls from Daniel Ruiz. The following day, Tuesday 16 September, will see one of the most eagerly awaited bills of the fair: Alejandro Talavante, Paco Ureña and Roca Rey, with bulls from Victoriano del Río.
The centrepiece of this edition will be the commemorative corrida for the 1,200th anniversary of the city of Murcia, scheduled for Friday 19 September. The line-up features Miguel Ángel Perera, Paco Ureña and Daniel Luque, who will take on bulls from El Parralejo, a ranch making its debut in La Condomina with great expectations.
The traditional Press Bullfight will be held on Saturday 20 September, featuring Sebastián Castella, Emilio de Justo and Marco Pérez, with bulls from Juan Pedro Domecq. Finally, the fair will close on Sunday 21 September with the rejoneo, starring three leading exponents of bullfighting on horseback: Andy Cartagena, Diego Ventura and Lea Vicens, with bulls from Los Espartales.
Among the attractions of this year’s programme are the inclusion of Juan Ortega in a high-profile line-up, the presence of the young Marco Pérez, and the much-anticipated debut of El Parralejo in Murcia, which promises to be a historic occasion.
The image chosen to represent the 2025 fair is the work of Murcian painter Carmen Artigas, a university professor and member of the Academy of Fine Arts. A leading representative of the artistic style known as Magical Innocence, Artigas has built a strong reputation for her cultural posters in the Region of Murcia and has also achieved international recognition for her work on Saint-Exupéry, author of The Little Prince, with a major exhibition in Paris dedicated to his work.
With these ingredients, the Murcia Bullfighting Fair 2025 is set to be one of the major events of the season, reaffirming La Condomina’s status as a key venue on the national bullfighting calendar.
